  • This update has the following improvements: You must patch Rome – Total War to version 1.3 before applying the 1.5 update (get the 1.3 update here). People, there is absolutely NOTHING free in this life or world. I have even noticed the more problems people have, the more instances of playing "FREE" games have occurred on said system. The problems are not truly the machine, but the activities the user performs on said machine including what protections you may or may not have and even what web sites you may visit. Some people will have problems and some will not and they may have the exact same machine. You see, I have an intel CPU with onboard HD 4000 and an optimus Nvidia 540M and Rome, including Rome 2 along with even a few games I am below minimum specs, runs just fine. I cannot give you kudos without insulting most everyone else. And after I turn it off, if I ever need to turn it back on won't I have to check what kind of files to index? Supposedly, if I select too many files won't that be bad for performance? I'm sorry for all these question but I wanna double check all changes I do to the computer so I don't mess anything up. From what I know indexing helps to find the files in the Hard Drive so turning it off is weird for me. I did everything you said except for turning off indexing. Put all that into place and let me know what is better and what is not so we can go from there. If you have a secondary hard drive, do the same for it as well. Select "Ignore All" when it asks, and allow it to finish. Also, open File Explorer so you see C drive like the old "My computer", click C drive and then right click to select properties, uncheck indexing and allow it to run.

As for the remainder, make sure your desktop resolution is exactly the same as your campaign and battle settings, turn off shadows, make sure AA is turned off, go into the Gefore Control Panel, 3D settings, go to Rome.exe, set prerendered frames to 1. Intel CPUs that have the onboard HD feature is going to leave you campaign lag at times. Originally posted by hazardhawk:My apologies up front.
